This J A Henckels Collins Safety Razor represents an important stage in shaving history. It is a wedge blade shaver. The idea is, you take a straight razor, and cut it into razor blade sized pieces. This allows you to attach it to a handle and make it easier for a person to shave themself. The best part is, most wedge razors (including this one) can accept a modern "GEM Style" disposable blade. This is because that style of blade was developed to replace wedge blades.

The handle appears perfect. We can't find any flaws in the plating, and it works perfectly. All three blades have some level of patina, with the one in the handle being in the best condition. It also appears to have been recently serviced, and I think it's ready to shave. The blade holders for the other two are perfect. I probably would have the other blades sharpened and stropped before attempting to use them. All of the metal items have been through our "light clean and sterilize" process. We've included a photo of how the handle will hold a GEM style blade.

The case looks good, but isn't great. The Twin Works logo on the liner is fairly faded, but visible. The catch appears to have some issue because it won't snap closed.

Overall the set looks amazing and displays very well. Unusual specimen to add to your collection!
