Lady Gillette Light Blue Starburst Safety Razor I1 from 1963

Here is an interesting example of a vintage Lady Gillette safety razor. It has a long, aluminum handle with a cool startburst pattern stamped under the head. The date code of I1 shows it was produced in 1963, the introduction year for this model. The Lady Gillette was made in 4 colors. In order of rarity, they are Champagne, Pink, Blue and Light Blue with the blues being the most common. This one is a light blue model. Though originally made for women, many men like the razor for the long handle. Uses standard Gillette style double edge razor blades, which are available in a variety of brands from many sources.

As you can see in the photos, this one is not in the best condition. However, it's one of those that looks better in person than in the photos. Looking at it in the bright lights and high magnification, there's a some brassing and dullness on the head. Under the head, there's a fair amount of brassing. There is some variation in the color on the handle. Something more than our "light clean and sterilize" process might improve it. 

Overall, still a nice razor to use or display.
