This is a cute little metal change purse from the 1920s. It's made of "German Silver". This was an alloy of tin and nickel that resembles silver. It has spring loaded compartments for quarters, nickels and dimes. It has a little spring to push the door open when you push the release. We think the short chain is original, and it was meant to be worn as a bracelet.

As you can see in the pictures, it's in very good condition for the age. There is a wear spot on the highest point of both the front and back. You have to push the button to close the clasp, but this may be the original operation. We have it pictured with a quarter and dime, but the nickel slot works perfectly too. I just didn't have a nickel in my pocket when I took the photo.

Cute little insight into the "flapper" era.
