Gillette Super Speed TV Special Safety Razor from 1958

Gillette manufactured the Super Speed in various forms for many years due to its enduring popularity. This model is the "TV Special" which was only produced in this form in 1958. It has a date code of D3. The cool looking lines in the knurling of the handle are the special feature. The Super Speed line continued with variations into the 1970s.

This is a variant of a "standard" Super Speed, which is considered a mild shaver. A good razor if you're new to wet shaving, or in a hurry. Takes standard double edge blades available from a number of sources.

As you can see in the photos, it's not perfect, but it is pretty good. It looks even better in person. Whether you want it so you'll have an example of this somewhat rare sub-model, or need it as a birth year razor, it's an interesting variation for use or display.
