This very handsome planter was produced by McCoy Pottery in the 1940s. It depicts two tulip flowers with leaves and a flying swallow. It's a beautiful pot, and the best part is, you can use it for flowers guilt free! The previous owner already did. It could stand some cleaning. The water and soil have left stains. However, this has illulstrated something about this pot I hadn't noticed before. It has facinating plumbing. The two pots are obviously connected, but there are also drainage holes that lead to the interior. From there, there are overflow ports that prevent over watering and flooding.

We've taken a lot of photos so you can judge condition for yourself. There is some crazing and a superficial crack in the glaze. The other light spots are missing glaze. It still looks terrific on the shelf!
