This is a about the coolest travel case and razor set I've seem. It includes a double edged travel razor marked "Alpha" and "Tokyo KS". There must not be many of them out there. Even Waits has nothing on it. There is a Gillette Blue Blade included (for display only). It has a date code of G2, which gives a date of 1936, but I think it's older than that. The razor style is made more for the older 3-hole blades of the 1920s. There is a early travel toothbrush included, but I don't think it's original to the set. The toothbrush is marked Hong Kong, but the Tokyo KS is the only other origin mark I see. The razor uses the Gillette style double edge blades which are available in a variety of styles and brands.
We rate this as Excellent condition. It appears to be very complete. There is one open slot for perhaps a soap box. However, what is included makes up for it. There's a nice little blade box, and even a shaving soap tin, with the soap still in it. However, the coolest thing is the shave brush. It self stores into a little cylinder. You remove the celluloid cap, and thread the base of the brush into the cylinder to give a longer handle. Really clever.
There is a some slightly worn plating and/or some light crazing in the plastic, but everything looks great. The actual razor, and blade box look perfect. Due to the vintage plastics, we though it best to only put the actual razor and metal case through our "light clean and sterilize" process.
Very nice little razor set for use or display.
