We call this little guy "Fred". He is Listerine's answer to the question of what to do with used safety razor blades. It was a promotional item for Listerine Shaving Cream in 1936. There's a slot in his mouth where you place the blades, and he safely stores them. Art deco design of a stylized frog looks really cool on the counter. It will hold Gillette, Schick and GEM style blades, and probably other types.
He's 3 inches tall. He is showing his age a bit, but is still solid and functional. There is a chip in his mouth, probably from where someone removed whatever used blades may have been in it. There are a couple of spots on his head and back that I think are defects where they didn't get the glaze on fully when he was fired. There are some stress cracks and a chip in his back. You can see all of this in the photos, and also see that he still is a piece of functional art.
Nice display piece, or use it to store your used blades.
