Ever Ready 1914 Style Razor

This is an interesting antique safety razor. It is an American SAfety Razor, "patent 1914" produced under their Ever Ready brand. The 1914 was never as popular as the 1912 or 1924 style ASR razors. Although it does hold the blade firmly, they have an unfounded reputation of being dangerous. Therefore, they are more rare. Judging from the handle style, this one was made shortly after the 1914 patent was issues.

The handle has some brassing, but the head looks much better in your hand, than in the photos. It's a fascinating look at shaving history. Since it uses standard single edge blades, which are still available in a variety of brands, it's a piece of history you can shave with!
