If you've never seen a vintage Segal TTO razor open, it's pretty startling. Rather than twin doors like a Gillette, or single door opening back like a GEM, the Segal levers up on end, then rotates to align with the head. The blades had a slot in the middle that would slide over the head. Does not accept anything we're aware of other than Segal brand blades, which are no longer made. The last patent listed on the head was issued in 1933, so this was made sometime in the 1930s.

As you can see in the photos, the razor is in very good condition. For the most part, the nickel plating on the razor looks great. There is some mild scuffing on the head, but it looks about perfect in your hand. I don't know what it is about Segal boxes. Every one I've seen looks just as rough as this one. At least it's here, and it has done the job of protecting the razor.

Interesting razor for display. It's possible you could find some NOS blades to see how it shaves.
