J. Chein Creeping Cat Wind Up Tin Toy about 1942

This vintage tin wind up toy is a "Creeping Cat" from J Chein and Company. It has the metal wheels in back and wooden ball in front, so this is from the early 1940s. You have to hand it to Chein, they made their toys durable. The wind up mechanism still works. 

There is a missing wheel. If you want it for display, it doesn't matter that much since it won't show. I expect it wouldn't be that hard to replace it if you prefer. The tin lithography looks great, although some might like to clean it up a bit. Personally, I like it just the way it is. A survivor with a lot of character. 

Nice, cute, old toy, ready to display or restore.
