Vintage Walnut Shaped Nut Cracker from 1950s

Very cool old nutcracker. I've seen this style before, but the other ones didn't have the walnut pattern on the lower section. They were just plain. We think it's from the 1950s. The figural walnut base is made of cast aluminum or pot metal. The screw that puts pressure on the nut is made of steel. 

Has a nice look, and I would use it as is. It you like, it could look even better if you wanted to clean it up a bit. Very nice piece to use or collect.
