This vintage Gillette razor is a variation on the type called the "New". It was made in England, we think in the early 1930s. It is most likely from a "French Service Set", but it could be from a "New Jewelry Set". Basically, it's a long comb New with a hollow, but decently heavy, handle. Uses standard Gillette type double edge razor blades.

As you can see in the photos, the razor is in pretty good condition for the age. Since it's English, I assume the plating us Rhodium. The head has one scratch that goes down to the brass. The speckling on the handle isn't apparent in your hand. Overall, it looks very good. I hadn't noticed until I was working the photos, but most of the corner teeth have at least a slight bend to them. All the inner teeth are straight. It's been through our "light clean and sterilize" process, but would likely be improved by a little better cleaning.

Nice, interesting, razor to use or display.
