This is an excellent example of a Gillette "Tech" style safety razor. Determining a date for this razor was more interesting than I expected. I figured it would be a post-war, pre-date code Tech made sometime around 1950. However, Gillette made the red and black package for the included Gillette Thin Blades from 1938 to 1946. It's possible this is just barely post war in 1946, but I more expect it to be pre-war 1941. Either way, it's cool. Gillette produced the Tech from 1939 through 1973. In spite of its age, it will use standard double edge razor blades. Normally, I don't get real excited about this style of tech. However, this set is almost new.

The razor is pretty much perfect. The acid etched Gillette logo stands out very well, much better than we were able to capture in a photo. The outer box is a bit beat up, but they are at least 70 years old. I didn't open the blade box. However, we include the blades for display purposes only, and you should buy new blades if you intend to shave with it.

The Techs are razors with a wide range of uses based on the blade installed. With a standard blade, it's often recommended as a good razor for beginners. With a sharper blade, even the seasoned pros love it. Great all around performer. Perhaps that's why they were produced so many years. Interesting razor for use or display.
