This is an unusual GEM set. This is the introduction package for the GEM Pushbutton razor. It is from 1959. The case provides an interesting way to store and display the razor. The advertising of the time presented the razor as being "Ready for your tough beard". The included razor blade case is for display only. If you wish to use the razor, it takes standard single edge razor blade, which are available in a variety of brands in stores and online.

The case is in excellent condition for the age and the thin plastic it's made from. As you can see in the photos, the clear part is somewhat yellowed, but is still flexible and unbroken. The base has lost some of the fur from the simulated velvet, but is better that most of this type of material we see. The red color is somewhat faded from sun and age, but still attractive, and it's done the job of protecting the razor, and should continue to do that for a long time to come.

The razor itself looks perfect. If there's a flaw, we can't find it. Operates perfectly. Many consider a single edge razor to be the closest shave you can get short of a straight razor. This attractive set would be a great addition to any collection.
