This is a nice vintage Gillette safety razor, with a rare, original travel case. The case has been etched as a memorabilia piece from the 1965 Annual Dinner for the Cook County Democratic Party.

The blades are sealed so I can't check their date codes, but the razor has a date code of K2 indicating it was produced in 1965. It is made in the venerable Tech pattern. The short aluminum handle gives this model it's "stubby" nickname.

As you can see in the photos, the razor is in excellent condition. I expect the set was put in a drawer the night they came home from the dinner and hardly ever moved. The case is very good, but does have some mild scratching. Since it doesn't appear to have ever been used, we did not run the razor through our standard "clean and sterilize" process. However, we feel it's still ready to go as soon as you have some standard Gillette style blades. These are available in a number of brands in stores and online.

Nice little razor and political advertising for use or display.
