This wonderful item is a Victorian Miniature Clock. It was probably made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. The outside case is made of brass with mother of pearl. I'm not sure, but I think the round cover for the lens, and the lens are made of celluloid.

Works perfectly. I'm not sure how long it runs. More than a day. I'll start it and forget about it before it stops. Keeps good time too. Pictures can't describe how cute this thing is, but you can see how tiny by the dime in the photo.

Pretty near perfect. The front cover does come off, perhaps by design. The face of the clock appears to be hand painted porcelain. It does have some slight cracking in the porcelain as you can see in the photo. You can't see this when the face is on the clock. We can't find any makers marks, but we haven't removed the screws to take the mechanism out of the case. It probably is marked somewhere. You may be able to remove the back and see, but it doesn't come off as easily as the front, and we haven't forced it.

A unique and lovely way to tell time.
