This is the biggest brown and white stoneware jug we've ever seen. It hold 5 gallons of liquid. There is a blue heart with a 5 insdie on the front. The cork is stamped "Pure Honey", but we don't know if that's what was originally in it. You can see the size in the photos. That's a 12 inch ruler. The handle is big enough for your whole hand. It's would have to be. This would have been really heavy when full. As you can see in the photos, there is a fairly large crack in the piece. It doesn't appear to have ever come apart, but it does run down one side and across the bottom. The jug can easily be turned when displayed so this won't show. It's possible it could be cleaned so it wouldn't be visible as well.
