This is a cool antique razor. it's a Kampfe Brothers Star set Number 7. It is a US Army Service Set safety razor. It has a mirror, a blade case, a stropper, instructions, and a "Patent 1901" Star single edge safety razor. We think this would have been issued to the troops during World War I. This would have been made with a wedge blade, but no blades are included. However, single edge disposable razor blades fit, which are available in several brands from many sources.

As to condition, it's in amazing for a war relic that's over 100 years old. The canvas isn't faded or worn. The mirror is still bright. The instructions are crisp and untorn. The razor is still perfectly usable. The plating on the handle is pretty much worn off, but the head is in pretty fair shape, and the spring is still strong.

Many folks say you can't beat a single edge razor for a close shave. This set probably takes that statement in a different direction. An interesting piece of shaving history you can still use!
