This is a cool antique razor. it's a "1914 Patent" GEM US Army Service Set safety razor. It has a mirror, two blade cases, and a 1914 style GEM single edge safety razor. This would have been issued to the troops during World War I. No blades are included, but new single edge razor blades are available in several brands from many sources. I'm not sure if the mirror is original to the set, but you can tell from the set of the canvas wrapper, it's been there a long time. If it wasn't provided in the set, it got put with it early on.

As to condition, it's in about as good shape as you can expect from a war relic that's almost 100 years old. The canvas is faded and worn. The Faux leather backer on the mirror is falling away. Everything has some rust. However, the razor is still perfectly usable. The plating on the head is in pretty fair shape, and the spring is still strong.

Many folks say you can't beat a single edge razor for a close shave. This set probably takes that statement in a different direction. An interesting piece of shaving history you can still use!
