This is a cool little item created by the Valet Auto Strop Razor Company. It's a razor blade knife. We found a 1930 advertisement where they were giving away one almost identical with the purchase of 10 blades. In the ad, they were talking about using the old blade from your shaving razor to give double duty in the knife.

The construction, blade, and the remainder of the silver plating are consistent with a 1930s date. Also, it is marked as being from the Autostrop Division of the Gillette Safety Razor Company. That merge happened in 1930. At any rate. As you can see in the photos, it's in good shape mechanically. Some of the silver plate is gone, but the brass underneath has a nice look. Would still serve as a terrific cigar cutter, especially for a razor enthusiast.

Neat item for the razor, cigar cutter, or knife collector. Very unusual, and still attractive for display.
