Gillette President Razor Set Y3 from 1953

This vintage Gillette safety razor is an early TTO razor called the President. Unlike other Gillette razors, it is plated in rhodium, which is very shiney and durable. The Y3 date code indicates this one is from 1953. While marketed as a premium product, it is more or less a thick handled version of a Super Speed razor. The heavier weight, superior balance, and overall good looks make this a popular razor. Uses standard Gillette style double edged razor blades, which are available in a variety of brands from many sources.

The rhodium plating isn't perfect, but it's very good. In your hand, the only flaw you can see is the small spot of brassing on the handle. The case is another matter. It is rough, but at least it's here. I think you could actually do some restoration on it (by rubbing paint back into the textured cover for example).
