This is a non-functional, solid metal replica of a German Mauser C96 semi-automatic pistol. A CAGA certified appraiser said this was used for training or parade. Our own research bears this out.

From the design, it's was made in the 1920s or 1930s. It's been cast from a real weapon. The right side still has a "W" clearly visible with other writing. The original would have been stamped with "WAFFENFABRIK" at this position.

As you can see in the photos, the paint has been worn in places. If it had a lanyard loop, it's gone. The back loop of the hammer is also missing. Since it's painted over, this looks like a casting void. Considering it's age and use, we still consider it to be in very good to excellent condition.

Whether you want it as an authentic piece of German, pre-WWII military art, an accessory for a costume, prop for a movie, or a great place to start in making a Han Solo Star Wars blaster, this is a great piece. There can't be too many of them around.

The last photo is of a real C96 of the same age for reference.
