This vintage Schick Injector razor is a type J4 Hydro Magic 500. It was produced around 1964. The long handle (about 5 1/2 inches or 14 cm overall), cool styling, and Hydro-Magic lever of the make it popular. Hydro-Magic was a feature of Schick razors from the late 1950s into the late 1960s. By opening the lever under the head, you can clean the razor without removing the blade. The blades included in the case are for display only. If you want to shave with it, you can purchase new standard Schick style blades, which are available in multiple brands from a variety of stores and online sources.

The razor looks pretty much perfect. I can't see any flaws holding it in my hand. The case is not perfect, but it's done the job of protecting the razor. It is mildly warped or jamed so the lid doesn't close quite completely, but it's still solid and keeps everything in place. There are some minor scuffs and scrapes, especially on the bottom. The engraving plate on top is blank, but mildly tarnished. Inside, the faux velvet is in excellent condition, and the elastic band holding the injector is still here. The case has an interesting flap meant to protect the gold liner from scratches from the razor or injector.

Overall, a very nice razor to use or display.
