Superior Safety Razor, Single Edge Lather Catcher Patented 1900

Here's an unusual antique razor. It's a Superior Safety Razor. It is marked as being patented on August 28, 1900, and made in New York. It has a neat closed comb lather catcher design, with a somewhat unique little gate on the back to hold in the blade.

Uses a standard single edge razor blade. The one shown in the photos is just for illustration and not included. There are a variety of brands for this style blade available. 

Many people swear by a single edge razor, and you can't beat the feeling of history when shaving with an instrument this old!
