This is a very good example of an American Safety Razor "Shovelhead" or "Patent 1924" type single edge safety razor. This one is marked "Pat App'd For", so it was made before the patent was issued. We think it's from about 1920. It is branded under the Ever-Ready name. Many people prefer single edge razors, and the blades are still readily available. They like the 1924 Ever-Readys (and GEMs and ASRs) because of the cool styling, and more positive blade locking action.
This example also has an additional benefit. It is stamped with the message "Complements of Sears Roebuck and Co. the World's Largest Store", making it an interesting promotional item from the period.
The razor is in very good condition for the age. While not perfect, it looks good in your hand. There are some light scratches and very mild brassing, however it is not as apparent as it seems in the photos. It operates perfectly, and is ready to go.
Overall, excellent razor to use or display.
