** We have determined that this razor is not an E1. We will relist it when we determine the correctl classification. **

This vintage Schick Injector Razor is what is called a type E1. This model was introduced in 1935. As old as it is, it still uses the standard injector blades you can buy at the drugstore today!

The E1 is one of the oldest Schick razors that can use a modern injector. One interesting feature of the E1 is, it has a flat head spring. If you compare the head of this razor with any other E type, or even the later G's, you'll see this one is very different.

There is a minor mystery here. The E1 type razor was introduced in 1935, but this example is in a case that's marked with a 20 year guarantee starting in 1942. I'm not sure if this type was in production longer than I thought, or if someone has brought these two together. However, the appearance of the razor and case make it unlikely this is such a marriage.

As you can see, this is a very attractive razor. The butterscotch bakelite handle has some nice marbling of lighter and darker colors. The gold plating is almost perfect. However, there are some variations in tone, especially at the top of the head. This would probably polish out. Overall, this razor looks and works great!

Rare piece of Schick shaving history, and you can still use it!
