This is a cool little set that comes to us from England. It's a Souplex razor, made mostly of white bakelite. The handle has a brass insert for strength. The base plate appears to be all bakelite. The top cap is all metal, with what appears to be chrome plating on top. There is a "double six" blade included. Based on this, we think the set is from about 1944 (when Souplex introduced the Double Six brand).
Unlike the Wardonia, this razor takes a standard Gillette style blade, which can be found in a variety of brand from a number of sources. In spite of the bakelite plastic, the razor has a good weight and nice balance.
I don't know if it's something on the lens or something the camera is picking up, but the spots on the photos aren't visible when you're looking at it. In fact, I don't think it's ever been used, and there's not even any signs of wear on the outside of the case. We ran it through our standard "clean and sterilize" process anyway.
Interesting and unusual razor. Would make a terrific travel razor.
