"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." Whichever side of the debate you come down on, that's what Neil Armstrong was supposed to say when Apollo 11 landed on the Moon. Recent evidence says he did say the line right and a radio glitch messed it up. Either way, July 20, 1969 is a high point in human history. It's hard to believe that it's been 50 years since man first set foot on the Moon.
This is a melamine plate made by the Texas Ware company to commemorate the event. It has Neil's quote on top, a crew listing and the date and time of the landing on the bottom. The main image is a photo of Neil in front of the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM). It comes with the wooden display stand pictured.
It should probably be cleaned up a bit more, but I didn't want to take a chance. I'm not very familiar with cleaning melamine (aside from the home dishes). Still, it looks perfect on the shelf. No cracks, chips or scratches.
