Here we have a really neat acrobatic clown toy. It is Toe Joe by Ohio Art. Made in the 1950s. You push down on the lever on the right, and Joe does all sorts of flips and spins. Pretty manic if you push it fast, but he puts on a good show if you work him more slowly.

As you can see in the photos, he's in good, but not great condition. For the most part, the tin litho printing is bright and colorful. There are a few small rust spots. Joe's clothes are in very good condition, as is the paint on his head. He is missing most of his hair. Considering all the flips he's probably done, it's a wonder he's here at all! Apparently, there is supposed to be a ball on the top of the gear rail on the right, and the spring to push it back up is pretty weak. you have to help it.

Really cool piece for a clown or toy collector.
